Worship Services

Picture
Our worship is centered in giving glory to God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the Triune God.  Immanuel Lutheran Church offers a choice between traditional and contemporary styles of worship.

WORSHIP SCHEDULE

Sunday worship times:

Traditional Worship:   9:00 am from the second Sunday in September through mid-June
This worship service features a traditional liturgy with hymns from Lutheran Worship.  The music is almost always accompanied by our Casavant pipe organ.

Contemporary Worship:  11:00 am from the second Sunday in September through mid-June
This service features contemporary music which is led by a music team accompanied by guitar, electronic keyboard, acoustic piano and other instruments as talent is available.

Blended Worship:  10:00 am from mid-June to the second Sunday in September.
Midweek services are offered during the season of Lent and special services are held on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Maunday Thursday and Good Friday

HOLY COMMUNION

Holy Communion (the Eucharist) is celebrated at both the 9 am  and the 11 am services on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month.  We also offer Holy Communion on Thanksgiving Sunday, Christmas Day, Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, and Easter Sunday.

As Lutheran Christians, we believe that Christ’s body and blood is present in, with, and under the bread and wine which we eat and drink.  Thus we believe that we receive the Lord’s body and blood by faith in a miraculous way.  Jesus gave the Lord’s Supper as a gift to all believers as a means by which we receive the forgiveness of our sins.  By it He also nourishes us and strengthens us for daily living.  We invite all who are baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith to join with us in receiving this Holy Sacrament.
